ISSUE 10 – AUGUST 2013
Summer certainly arrived this month with wonderful sunshine and temperatures reaching well over 20C most days. We welcomed 2 new Junior Girls into the Ladies Section this month, Amy Butt and Harriet Rowe, both played in our fun competition and both were in the prizes! It’s school summer holiday time so please think about them when arranging your partners for golf comps, their telephone numbers are in the diary.
Our normal monthly medal on Tuesday 2nd July included the Country Prize and was won by Rosemary Wedlock.
The following day saw the first two sessions of our "effective practicing" drills run by Sue Houghton. These sessions are designed to show you how to maximise your practice routines to get more from them. All the ladies who attended found them very useful.

WHAT’S ON IN AUGUST
August 2nd is the date for Tehidy Park’s Pro-Am, a big event in our yearly calendar. This is followed 10 days later by our Festival Week. The entry sheets have been on display in the 19th for several months now and every day’s competitions look to be almost completely full – a great testament to how popular this week is, not only with club members, but with golfers from other parts of Cornwall and beyond.
Tuesday 20th is Ladies Invitation Day, another very popular fun day of golf followed by dinner. For newer members if you don’t know anyone to invite have a word with a committee member and they will try and organise a partner for you. The Warren Trophy on Sunday 25th is the last of our "silverware" competitions for this year.
All the raffle prizes had also been donated by the ladies which meant all the monies raised would go to the charity. The amount of money raised for Little Harbour House was an amazing £535.80 which Barclays will match making a grand total of £1071.60 – a truly wonderful result. Many thanks to all those played, made donations and generally supported the day.
