I would like to inform you on behalf of the General Committee that our longstanding Secretary/Manager, Ian Veale has tendered his resignation and his last working day will be the 30th January 2021.
No doubt this will come as a surprise to many of you. The Committee and I would like to thank Ian for all his hard work, support and dedication over the last 16 years and to wish him all the best for his new role as General Manager of Whitchurch (Cardiff) Golf Club.
Rest assured we, your Committee, will look to a worthy and competent replacement and that we are already looking at the recruitment process. I will keep you informed of the progress we are making.
In the meantime please join me in wishing Ian every success in his new role. Our loss is definitely Whitchurch Golf Club’s gain.
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Saturday and having read all rules and guidance currently available, Tehidy Park Golf Club will be closed from 8 p.m. (* see below) on 4th November 2020.
England Golf and other organisations in the golf industry are working to achieve clarification as to when golf will be allowed as outdoor exercise, but for now, we have no choice but to close the Club and Course.
We hope that there will be some success on the part of England Golf and will of course keep you updated on our aim to open the Golf Course as soon as possible. (I note that some have already booked tee-times for Thursday, which I will leave on the system at present, but without an about turn on golf being allowed golf will not be permitted after Wednesday).
* Bar / Restaurant Hours – With Wednesday being the last day of business owing to Lockdown 2 restrictions the Bar and Restaurant will both be open until 8 p.m. as opposed to the current publicised hours of 5.30 p.m.
